Cheryl Lohrmann shares land to collaborate with friends, neighbors and organizations to improve soils in the North and South Willamette Bioregions. She is a mother, a community organizer and an advanced student at Dr. Elaine's Soil Food Web School, Soil Consultation program, completion expected Fall 2025!
As an long time organizer, I believe it's important to take my clients land and soil samples seriously while tending to the bigger picture. As a Soil Consultant/Organizer I tend to the big picture in your own space, as well the even larger bioregional picture in collaboration with many others.
I am currently collaborating with Regenerate Cascadia land tending projecct in SE Portland, where we will respectfully remove trash, any invasives, and restore a key part of Johnson's Creek watershed. In the long run this is the kind of attention our plants need. No matter where they are; all things will do better with an intact hydrological structure, namely by preventing or remediating erosion. This also handily helps with more carbon sequestration! Collaborative plans and community input/participation are key to moving the needle in its restoration.
So, thank you! Your support in my work helps me to spend more focused time doing this organizing work in the community. Stay tuned for opportunities to help with the Land Tending at Johnson's Creek in the near future.
