Make Microbially Rich Compost @ Soiled Farm!
Learn how to cultivate beneficial microbes for your landscape, orchards and gardens! Get hands-on experience rescuing materials that you have around you and creating compost that works because the biology is in it to cycle nutrients and minerals to your plants. Location: Near SE 122nd/Stark (details to be emailed to registrants 24 hours before class). Thermophilic and S.P.I.C.E. methods will be examined on different days. Appropriate for all ages, Under 18 must be accompanied by adult supervision. $50/adults, children/youth under 18 are free. Limit 15. After the class, I am available for ongoing accompaniment for creating rich compost!

Open Soil Microbe Lab at Leaven Community!
Learn how to identify soil microbes by watching them live-casted from a microscope camera and tell whether a sample has all the microbes your crops, orchards, landscapes, need! Bring your soil samples in a sandwich baggy if you want to check out your compost, vermicompost, garden soil's microbial diversity! Also learn about the Soil Sponge and how its important for your yard, home, community, and region. Bonus: Find out your microbial personality; are you more like a bacteria, fungi, protozoa, or nematode? $25/person and $10 for youth under age 12. Limit 10.
